How to Prepare for Your First Appointment?

First off, congratulate yourself for making a step forward to change your life for the better. There are only a few things you need to do in order to set yourself up for success in hypnotherapy. This short article will outline everything you need.


The first thing you will need to know in order to get your appointment is the address. Thrive Hypnotherapy is located within the Synchronicity Counseling and Wellness Center. The address is:

3350 Americana Terrace, Suite 215
Boise, ID 83706

It's located on the same side of the street as Katherine Albertsons Park, and is across the street from Ann Morrison Park. It is a large brick building on the corner of Americana and Americana Terrace. 

The building has two entrances, the easiest one to go into is the one marked Synchronicity Counseling. You will see suite 215 as soon as you walk in. You will also see my name, "Benjamin Schoeffler, CH" on the door along with the other counselors. Once you go inside you will find a waiting area with books, magazines, coffee, tea, water, and chairs to lounge in. Make yourself comfortable while you wait for me to get you for our appointment!





A few Common Questions:

How much is each session? - I charge $100 per session.

When do you collect payment?  -  Payment is due at the time of the session. I accept cash, major credit cards, and checks.

Do you take insurance?  -  I do not take insurance at this time, but sometimes health insurance will reimburse you depending on your coverage. Simply call up your insurance provider and ask them if hypnotherapy is a covered service. Upon request I can provide you with an invoice and/or superbill as well at the hypnotherapy insurance code (code: 90880) if your insurance requires it for reimbursement

How many sessions should I expect to attend?  -  Everyone is different. Some people only need two or three sessions to see the change they desire, others may need seven or eight sessions. It depends on the person, their personal history, motivation, and the way they process information. My average client see's me between two and six sessions. 

What to wear?  -  Any sort of comfortable clothes are fine.

How long is the first appointment?  -  The first appointment is longer than most others, and it is usually around 90 minutes. All appointments after that will be between 50 and 60 minutes.

Will you call me to remind me of the session?  -  I have a system that sends out an automatic e-mail, text message, or phone call a day before the session asking you to confirm your appointment and to remind you when it is.

Is it ok to come on my lunch break from work?  -  Yes, but be aware the first session usually lasts 90 minute. Appointments beyond the first are only 50-60 minutes, so it makes coming on a lunch break much easier for most people. When you get back to work you will be energized, relaxed, and focused!

Is it ok to be hypnotized if I am on medication?  -  Yes, just let me know which medications you are currently taking. Most prescription medicines do not interfere with the hypnotic process.
